How to Use ScanGPT
Step 1: Unbox and Charge
Open the package and take out your ScanGPT. Inside, youβll find the device along with a USB charging cable, user manual, and possibly a protective case or screen protector.
Plug it in using the included USB cable. Connect one end to the charging port on the pen and the other to a USB source like a wall adapter or laptop. Let it charge fully for around 1 to 2 hours for optimal use.
Step 2: Power It On
Hold the power button for a few seconds until you see the welcome screen. This means ScanGPT is booting up and ready to go.
Step 3: Connect to Wi-Fi (Optional)
Open the settings menu and choose your Wi-Fi network. Enter the password to connect. Keep in mind that the pen does not support 5Ghz networks. A connection is only required for online features like ChatGPT integration. ScanGPT also works offline for scanning and translation in over 60 languages.
Step 4: Scan Text
Open the SmartAI app on the penβs screen. Tap the scan button to enter scanning mode.
Hold the pen just like a regular pen, with the scanning side facing the paper. Press the scan button and slide the pen slowly over the printed text. Youβll see the result instantly on the screen. If text-to-speech is enabled, the pen will read it aloud too.
Tip: For best accuracy, scan on a flat surface and move the pen in a steady motion.
Step 5: Ask AI Questions
Scan any question from a textbook or worksheet. The AI will instantly give you an answer on-screen or via voice, depending on your settings.
You can also press the voice input button and speak your question. ScanGPT will process your voice and respond using AI. This is useful for personalized queries and explanations.
Step 6: Take Voice Notes
Press the voice record icon to begin recording. Itβs perfect for saving audio during classes, meetings, or brainstorming sessions. Press again to stop and replay your notes through the device.
Step 7: Explore More Features
- Read scanned content aloud
- Save your scans and notes internally
- Use Bluetooth or internal speakers for music
- Includes a rear camera
Step 8: Power Down and Store
To turn off the pen, hold the power button again. Store it safely in a protective case to prevent damage to the tip or screen.
Troubleshooting
Pen wonβt start: Make sure itβs fully charged. If not, try a different USB port or charger.
Scanning not working: Ensure the surface is flat and the text is printed clearly.
No Wi-Fi connection: Try resetting the pen and reconnecting. Mobile hotspots also work.
